Laurel got her halberd ready. It was time to prove her worth in this world. She stood at the battle arena, waiting for someone else to come. She had learned the basic techniques of healing from Kianus so that would help...except that it tired her. She sighed. She had wanted Kianus to come, but apparently, he was too busy studying a bunch of old spells in an old book. Wizards. She rolled her eyes.

She sat down, for her legs were a bit tired from standing so long.



When was someone coming?

"Sorry to keep you waiting." Kyrene walked into the room, carrying RIN. "Been meaning to work on sparring."

"finally, some form of competition. i was beginning to think that no one would have the guts to show up," smirked Laurel. She readied her weapon. "Ready when you are," she called out.

"Mmm, well I like to keep RIN in her scabbard when starting, so you can go first." Kyrene said, her hands twitching at her side. Here was a chance to test out that iaido she had learned. XD

OOC: Every good battle needs a commentator.

At this point the assassin entered and took a seat on high ground out of harm's way. It was time to see what exactly these two were made of. Plus, she had been craving some good entertainment for awhile now.

She stretched out her legs and awaited the ensuing battle.

"Fine," said Laurel, not giving Kyrene a chance to respond. She grabbed her halberd with both hands and charged, aiming for the torso!


OCC: Hai! Three way battle!!!

OOC: Heeeeeeeell no. Are you nuts? With you swinging a halberd around and her swinging a katana? I'll sit this out, if you please.

EDIT: hai says i need a counterattack, but i see no reason for one unless you have a follow up attack.

By this time the assassin was getting bored. She fished out her favorite set of throwing knives and proceeded to chuck some at Kyrene and Laurel.

"Gah!" Kyrene threw herself backwards and rolled to avoid the stupid knives. "Psst, Laurel, what do you say to a quick binding spell on that assassin?"

Shwwooof shwooof shwooof. The knives rained down upon the two. Only the assassin's hands and part of her arm was in motion. The rest of her was absolutely still.

Woah! She dodged a knife that had flew inches away from her nose. Too close for comfort...

Laurel skidded to a stop, frustrated. She wasn't going to listen to her opponent during a fight! She paused and stared at her opponent. She spun her halberd in the air and released it. Head attacks, in her opinion, were too risky. Instead, she brought her weapon lower and swung at the opponent's legs.

OOC: Sorry about that.

Now that the fight resumed, she withheld from throwing her knives and sat contently watching the battle again.

Whatever. Her Shihan always taught her to be wary of her surroundings. It was obvious the knives had stopped, so why waste energy on a spell. Uh oh, the girl just swung at her legs. It was pretty low so Kyrene just jumped over it. Reminded her of elementary school days and jumping rope. ACk, stop it. She drew RIN and aimed a slash at Laurel's arms, which were pretty unprotected after swinging the halberd so low.

Oh. Ah. The assassin thought for a minute. There's not much you can do about that. Arms away or weapon away, depends on which one you value more. Wait. That didn't make any sense. Arms away would mean you couldn't hold your weapon anymore. So what's the point?

In any case, she decided not to interfere to see how the knight would react to her present predicament.
