Shoot! Laurel released her halberd and jumped away, landing on her knees. The sword crashed into the halberd, but it remained unharmed. Instead the floor beneath it cracked. The weapon could not easily be broken.

At that time, she was glad of the armor she was wearing. Plus, the halberd was REALLY heavy to carry. Not everyone could carry it unless they spent a few years at the academy's hellroom. She immediately found herself light on her feet.

Well, that didn't mean that she wasn't going to reclaim her weapon, but maybe she should let Kyrene carry it a bit and feel the weight. At the same time, Laurel was getting into a battle stance. Off your knees!

The assassin covered her ears at the deafening roar as the halberd and sword collided. At last she removed the hearing aid she had in her left ear. No point in wearing if it was only going to make you more deaf than you already were.

Now the knight was weaponless. How was she going to fare against a halberd and a katana?

Kyrene smirked. Rule one, never let go of your weapon. Especially if you only got one. She kicked the halberd away a few feet. Boy, it was heavy! But it wasn't illegal to do so. She saw the knight getting back up. Kyrene knew she probably couldnt hack through the armor without hurting both of them. Might as well go for the gaps, like she had been taught. For now, she contented herself with aiming a straight up and down slash at the unarmed knight.

The assassin smiled.

Kyrene was such a traditional fighter. Guess she didn't know about Knights that much. Oh well.

She examined the kiriotoshi. It was a nice, standard cut. She leaned back against the wall. How was the knight going to fend this off without her halberd?

Kyrene had not appeared interested in her halberd. Darn. Laurel dodged the attack by jumping back, nearly crashing the wall. It felt so good without that heavy weapon(OOC: By up down slash....hmmm...i shall assume that one has control in how long they can push their blade?) The blade had scraped her metal boots as it went down. Quickly, she did a dodge roll towards her halbred. For once, she was glad that for the halbred's long height. Still, with the halberd, she could feel her speed slowing down. She watched Kyrene for her next attack while collecting her thoughts.

OOC: 'Course. It's all about control.

Ooooh...very nice dodge. That halberd must be really something. The knight's speed was visibly decreasing. This was her chance to move.

Wha....WHAT?! WHY WAS THAT KID JUST SITTING THERE?! Don't tell me she's....! The assassin smacked her forehead. Who the heck thinks while fighting for goodness sakes...

Huh. So this knight could MOVE. That was some valuable info there. Kyrene watched as the knight rolled and collected her halberd, now in a crouching/squatting kinda stance, her weapon in front. (excuse me for improvising but i have no idea what position you're in.) Bleh, now what? Kyrene was getting a bit irrated for having only done traditional iaido and not naginatajutsu or something to go along with it.

The halberd was low..so...Kyrene charged into the pole arm, she hooked RIN near the blade part and drove her katana into the ground to prevent the halberd from moving. She then jumped forcefully on the handle of the halberd, her weight driving it flat to the ground. At least one of the Knight's hands should be pinned to the ground now, if the mechanics worked out. Pivoting on her right foot (which was still on top of the halberd handle, Kyrene aimed a vicious swinging kick at Laurel's face. (Laurel's crouching, so it would be the perfect height.)

Ooh. That poor knight was going to take a nasty one in the face.

OOC: Matrix time!

But she had to agree, that was a smooth one from Kyrene. She contemplated helping out, but instead she decided to wait and see what the knight would do next.

OOC: Ah, Laurel's been hit!

-------------

Laurel thought about it--and let the kick come. She moved her head back in the last few seconds, still feeling the impact of the kick but less. She let go of the halberd with the sudden jolt of pain. Ouch. She would have to ask Kianus to heal this one. Before Kyrene decided to pull back, she quickly grabbed Kyrene's leg with her other hand and whipped Kyrene's body around. It was definitely lighter than her halberd.

Ooh. That one would definitely leave a mark. Smart idea though. She watched as the knight grabbed Kyrene and whirled her around. She was astounded by the knight's strength. Wow. That must be because of the halberd. The assassin shifted to get a better look at the action.

OOC: people, please be more specific, especially with direction. i have no idea which way you're whirling/whippig Kyrene. Therefore, i must improvise. =/
-------------
Ooops. Didn't see that one coming, Kyrene thought as she felt the knight caught her by the ankle and flung her to the other side of the arena. The impact wasn't so bad, cuz she had been taught how to roll with the fall in order to lessen the impact. Ack, there was going to be a bruise on her left shoulder tomorrow, though. Kyrene saw Laurel standing/staggering. The knight was definitely closer to both their weapons, but Kyrene made a dive for her katana anyways.

Good way to break that damage. She looked at her armor. Eh...don't think I can roll in this thing...or maybe... She shrugged and looked up again to see Kyrene lunging at her katana.

Hrm....the assassin shook her head. That wasn't the way to go about it. She felt tempted to fling another knife, but she didn't. She had the power to just call it to her. Why didn't she do that instead?

OOC: waiting for tiff... oh well. lets keep this party going.
---------------------------
Apparently, the knight seemed a bit whoozy from the whirling, she was staggering a bit as Kyrene saw. PErfect. The woman dove and yanked hard on the tsuka. The wedged blade came free. She assumed her ready stance in front of the halberd. There. If she could either keep the knight from her halberd, then perhaps it would be easier to go on the offensive. Then again, a halberd did have it's weak spots. Could be strategic to let Laurel have it and then get overconfident and make a mistake. Didn't really matter. But Kyrene was keen on seeing just what this girl was made of.

Kyrene turned RIn on her flat (side) and thrust it at Laurel's abdomen, in between the slitlike opening. (theres a slitlike opening in the armor at the waist so one can manuveur and bend down.)

OOC: Hahaha o0

Laurel dodged, but wasn't quick enough. She felt a bit of skin tear off and maybe even flesh. She dropped to the ground in pain, but that wasn't enough to stop her. Pain was something that was taught with all knights. Her fists were fairly strong, but Kyrene was still too far. Instead, Laurel chose the other option--retreat. She backed up to the wall and watched the surroundings, holding a hand to her armor. It didn't really work as the armor was above the skin, but that wasn't the point.

So far the halberd was close to Kyrene. Hmmm

Kyrene watched the knight stagger away, hand clutched to her abdomen. Okay, this was somewhat disappointing. She wasn't attacking. sigh. Kyrene followed up with a gakukesa cut. (diagnal, hip to opposite shoulder. upward cutting motion). Might as well drive the beast into the corner and get a reaction.
